Administration Services

What does ProAmica do when contracted to administer a Trust?

We do everything you would expect from a medical insurance company except fund the claims settlement as an insurer does. The concept of a Trust is that the Trust pays its own claims, using its own funds.

First of all it is essential that the Trust and ProAmica Administration services establish the benefit levels and any limitations, which are to be applicable to the Trust. Once these decisions have been made ProAmica will deal with all aspects of Trust administration.

For example
  • Take telephone calls from trust members who wish to make a claim for medical expenses. ProAmica will advise the trust member on how to make a claim and the processes involved.

  • ProAmica will authorise treatment to go ahead, once a claim has been approved and accepted, giving definitions to the Trust Member as to any benefit limits applicable to their specific treatment plan.

  • All accepted claims will be settled by ProAmica, at the end of each month. Payments will be made by cheque either direct to the clinician or hospital, or reimbursed to the Trust Member where it is confirmed they have already settled an invoice themselves.

  • A monthly report detailing claim numbers and payments due to the various facilities and clinics, will be presented each month to the Trust. The Trustees will then authorise ProAmica to collect from the Trust Bank Account by Direct Debit, the claims liability amount, together with the pre-agreed administration costs due to ProAmica.

  • ProAmica will issue Trust Membership Documentation to all Members of the Trust. This enables each Member to be fully aware of their available benefits and should the need arise, how to make a claim.

  • ProAmica has used its negotiating power to strike deals with Hospital facilities wherever possible. Any such cost savings achieved will be reflected in the billing from the facilities to the Trust Member and are therefore a direct benefit to the Trust.
